Hi there. My show is about seasonal produce from local farms, the best San Francisco restaurants that are cooking with these ingredients and what the wine experts recommend for pairings. When I think of which restaurants subscribe to the local and seasonal philosophy Americano immediately comes to mind. Their cuisine is California-style with a rustic Italian flare. Think artichoke hearts, salt cod baccala and meyer lemon aioli. YUMMY!
The food’s amazing AND they happen to be right across the street from the farmer’s market and Ferry Building inside Hotel Vitale. This ideal location allows Chef Paul Arenstam to be “of the moment” and spotlight whatever strikes his fancy that day at the market. Americano whips up fabulous meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner and they even serve a weekend brunch.
If you’re more of a cocktails and light bite kinda diner then Americano is equally the place for you. Loungy and sophisticated, the furnishings are made from natural materials or fibers such as wool, leather and hardwood. You’ll want to linger for hours. I know this from personal experience. It’s really easy to chill out with a drink and some appetizers at the bar or on the outside patio. The perfect antidote to a stressful day in the office.
So, that’s my take on Americano. Check out the video at www.TenToe.TV and hear more about the restaurant from Chef Paul Arenstam. Until next time….here’s to happy dining!
